This charming country kitchen was designed and made for a home situated within a private estate in Kingswood, near Banstead in Surrey. Traditional shaker kitchen cabinets give this inviting space an authentic country vibe, complemented by the pastel pink shade used on the walls – while the contemporary lead grey shade in a matt finish (Mylands, Drury Lane), adds a modern dimension to the design. Burnished brass cup and knob handles and warm walnut interiors contrast beautifully with the cool hand painted exteriors of the cabinets.
The light reflecting and luxurious worktops and splashback are ‘Lucerne Lake’ a practical, durable and stylish quartz composite. Above the induction hob, a recessed shelf with a glass background in the same shade as the cabinets was specially created as a place for the kitchen’s cook to keep essential ingredients close to hand.
The kitchen island was created to suit the space available while still providing a breakfast bar and plenty of room to move around it. A pantry cabinet was also designed and built for the homeowners as a breakfast cupboard, with practical pocket doors, automatic interior lighting and a composite worktop matching the rest of the kitchen. Further practicality was added to this design through the installation of the Falmec Gruppo Incasso high-powered extractor, a fully integrated Siemens dishwasher and a Quooker Fusion all-in-one tap which, alongside the style choices of this design, help to create a charming, traditional kitchen that’s made for modern living.
For this kitchen renovation we worked with interior designer, Emma Merry.
