WANDSWORTH SHAKER KITCHEN
A classic yet contemporary kitchen design for a home in Wandsworth. This kitchen was created using shaker-style cabinets hand-painted in the cool shade of ‘Lead 1’ by Paint & Paper Library and complemented by Compac Carrara worktops. The traditional shaker cabinets with some open-shelving for plate storage worked with the dark wooden floors to give this space a stylish New England feel. The tall floor-to-ceiling cabinets and practical additions such as a space-saving laundry cupboard provided plenty of useful storage space for this sophisticated South West London kitchen. A chimney alcove with tiled splashback housing a cream range cooker was incorporated into the design to build on the traditional character of this Wandsworth kitchen – whilst the wide and welcoming island became the focal point of the room with feature lantern lighting overhead. Cabinets on all sides of the island allowed easy access to even more kitchen storage space, as well of lots of extra worktop space too. Beyond the main kitchen area, a dining area with an upholstered window seat made the most of the large period feature windows which looked out onto the garden from this delightful open-plan room.
“Brayer Design were a dream to work with. They helped make the most of the space, balancing the proportions and linking the cooking and dining area with a large island.”
