WIMBLEDON MODERN SHAKER KITCHEN
We created a stylish and modern shaker kitchen for a spacious home in Wimbledon.
This sociable open-plan kitchen combines the classic characteristics of the traditional shaker cabinets with contemporary finishes to deliver a living space that’s fresh and inviting. The kitchen cabinets are hand-painted in Mylands ‘Museum 151’ with an eggshell finish for an appealing flat-matt look. Large recessed rectangular pulls in brushed stainless steel give a modern edge to the kitchen. Other contemporary influences come from the installation of stainless steel appliances which include one integrated oven on the island with induction cooker-top and gas hob, and another mounted oven with combi-microwave and warming drawer, all by Gaggenau. Features such as a subtle ceiling extractor by Falmec above the island, Quooker tap and a fully integrated Siemens dishwasher make for a practical and considered kitchen for the homeowners to enjoy. Light reflecting and heat resistant Caesarstone worktops add further practicality, while the Prima Heart Ash breakfast bar and long open shelf in a vintage oil finish provide a pleasing contrast of texture and tones to this design.
This kitchen was completed as part of a larger renovation project by Hoban Design with building work carried out by Bailey & Jones.
